Mini Mother's Day cakes

What cheerful, sweet Mother's Day cakes! Wouldn't you like to surprise your mother with these? The best part is that they are quick to make, so you can whip up an amazing last-minute breakfast in bed. With this recipe, you can be sure that Mother's Day will get off to a fantastic start!

You will need

9 slices of ready-made cake
9 strawberries
100ml whipping cream
50g cream cheese
0.5 tsp vanilla extract
Zusss tableware
Zusss napkins
Decorative hearts or sprinkles
Round cookie cutter or sharp knife
Piping bag with round nozzle

Step 1

Let's start by making the cream. Beat the cream cheese in a separate bowl until creamy, which takes about 1 minute. Then whip the heavy cream until stiff and gently mix it with the creamy cheese and vanilla extract until you have a smooth cream. Put this cream in a piping bag.

Tip: If you don't have a piping bag, you can use a resealable plastic bag as an alternative.

Let's get started with the cake! Take the slices of cake and cut or cut out 9 circles. You will need 3 circles per mini tart.

Time to assemble the tart. Start with one cake round and place a strawberry on top, cut into 4 pieces. 

Then pipe cream around the strawberry pieces. Take a look at the photo on the right for an example! 

Repeat this step to create two layers. Then finish with a third cake layer.
