
Christmas chocolate cracker

The star of your Christmas table! This Christmas Chocolate Cracker by Hemelssbakken, is not only súper delicious, but also a real eye-catcher. The best part? You make it super easy: 20 pieces in just 15 minutes of work, with a waiting time of about 1.5 hours. Before you know it, you'll be stealing the show with this festive treat!
This is what you need:
+/- 20 double crackers
130g salted butter
130g light brown caster sugar
180g dark chocolate, finely chopped
Handful of pecans
Handful of M&M's (red and green)
Christmas sprinkles
Baking tray/oven + baking paper
Zusss napkins

STEP 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C top to bottom heat and line the baking sheet or baking pan with baking paper. Then break the crackers into squares and lay them neatly all over the bottom. The number of crackers you need depends on the size of your baking tray or baking dish.
Next, melt the butter along with the caster sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Keep stirring as it slowly heats and bring the mixture to a boil. Let it boil for another 2 minutes, remembering to stir occasionally.

STEP 2
Immediately pour the warm mixture over the crackers and spread it out. Then put it in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
Remove the container and let it stand for about 2 minutes, until it stops bubbling. Then it's time for the chocolate! Sprinkle this generously over the slice and let it melt for 5 minutes. Then you can spread it out into a smooth, shiny layer.

STEP 3
And now comes the best part: decorating! Choose your favorite toppings, such as pecans, M&Ms or festive Christmas sprinkles, and make it a real showstopper.
When the slice is all decorated, comes the hardest part: let this deliciousness cool first for half an hour on the counter and then for at least another 1 hour in a cool room or the refrigerator.
Then take it out of the mold, remove the baking paper and break it into pieces.
