Folding a boat

Look, there's the steamboat coming... Want to get creative with wrapping your Sinterklaas gifts? We've given this old-fashioned DIY a new twist by attaching it to your package. This gives your Sinterklaas gift a creative twist. Follow the steps below to fold your boat.

Requirements:

kraft paper or other cheerful wrapping paper
string
scissors
wrapped gift

STEP 1.

Gather your supplies and lay them out on your table or work surface. Start by wrapping your gift in the traditional way, with wrapping paper, and you're done. Then cut a piece of kraft paper or other cheerful wrapping paper to A4 size, or you can use a square piece.

STEP 2.

Now it's time to start folding. Watch the video below to follow the steps for each fold. When folding, make sure that the seams line up properly and press the folds firmly with your thumb or fingernail.

STEP 3.

Did the folding work? Then take your wrapped gift and wrap the string around it a few times. Secure the string and stick the boat behind it. Have fun surprising someone!
